I have the honour to submit for the signification
of His Majesty's pleasure Ordinance No.29 of 1934 intituled "an Ordinance to apply a sum not exceeding twenty-six million
four hundred and four thousand two hundred and nineteen dollars
to the public service of the year 1935" together with the Attorney General's report thereon.
2. Copies of the draft Estimates of Kevenue and Expenditure for 1935, of the introductory address by the Colonial Secretary and of other papers in connection with the draft Estimates were forwarded with my despatch No.487 of
14th September, 1934. Copies of the report (uncorrected) in
the South China Morning Post of the proceedings at the subsequent meeting on 27th September, at which the Bill was
passed, are enclosed with this despatch. In response to a general desire on the part of Unofficial Members that work
on the Wanchai Market should be carried to completion as soon
as possible the appropriation under Public Works Extraordinary
was increased by $80,000 and the total appropriation raised
from $26,324,219 to $26,404,219. The necessary amendments
have been made in the Estimates, revised copies of which are
enclosed. The item, Wanchai Market, appears as (new) Sub-Head
3 on page 103.
